Corythoichthys haematopterus Pipefish Spawning

This is a pair of messmate pipefishes (Corythoichthys haematopterus) that have just spawned, with the female in the background having transferred eggs to the male. After the transfer, the two intertwine and press against one another in order to ensure that the eggs are properly affixed. Some of the eggs seen here are yet to be pressed into place.
