Male Sperm Whale Named Scar | Dominica

This individual's name is Scar, an unusually friendly male sperm whale that was about ten years old at this encounter. This image received a Highly Commended recognition in the Gerald Durrell Award for Endangered Wildlife category at the 2010 Veolia Environnement Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition (organised by BBC Wildlife Magazine and the Natural History Museum London)
